A war has been brewing between rapper Azealia Banks and former governor of Alaska Sarah Palin. It began from a satircal interview promoting slavery in which Palin never participated. Banks immediately fired off comments towards Palin, asking for her to be gang raped, and made other disparaging comments about her children. Palin fired back (both of them), and did so with style and class. Ultimately, Palin is moving forward with a lawsuit to sue Banks. Apologies came soon after from Banks, but Palin is not accepting them:
“Also, i never said you should be raped. I used the term ‘run a train,’ which is slang for group sex, NOT for ‘rape.’…However, i find great irony in the right-wing media’s attempt to ‘victimize,’ you in this situation…P.S.: – I am an EXTREMELY intelligent woman, Mrs. Palin.” (sic)
When questioned about her decision to sue, Palin responded, “Why is it if anyone looks at some liberal women the wrong way they can yell “RAPE” and ruin people’s lives (the Duke Lacrosse team, anyone?), but when serious violence is threatened against someone not of their political ilk, no one bats an eye.”
If the crazy world we live in of overt political correctness wasn’t bad enough, now we have to be worried about what other people say in our guise and what other people believe we are thinking? This is ESP mixed in with Big Brother. Kudos to you Sarah Palin for levying a lawsuit and standing up for what’s right.
One suggestion for you Azealia: “#stayinschool #causeitsthebest.”
